In 2019, we were hired on as the social AOR for Sam’s Club. They wanted a complete overhaul of their social channels, including full social and UGC strategy, embracing a new, millennial-centric brand voice called the Bold Bestie, and of course a massive visual upgrade.
We had our hands full taking on the challenge and were making incredible headway with their follower counts and engagement. Then, Covid hit.
Our job fundamentally changed overnight. The creative team not only had to get wildly inventive with our limited resource pool, it also required us to create a system where we could easily respond within a few hours, providing and over-the-top creative responsiveness (18-hour daily coverage, whew!).
As the Group Creative Director of this team, I could not be more proud of the fortitude, flexibility and sheer creative firepower this team showed me. Rising to the occasion is an absolute understatement.
